Alex Medhurst has assited in the satisfactory settlement of a legal claim by a mortgage lender against another valuer. A loan in 2013 to fund the redevelopment of the Grade II LIsted Barnham Windmill, went wrong. Alex was drafted in as an Expert Witness by Rosalyn King to assist the London based lawyers to reach a mediated settlement.  His knowledge of the development process, appraisals and valuation methodology was fundamental to reaching the agreement.

Following the expiry of the previous lease, a new letting has been completed on the first and second floors at 33 West Street Chichester. The Grade II Listed building is in an excellent visible location overlooking the Westgate Roundabout and close to the historic cathedral. 

The tenant has relocated her nail business in order to expand from premises in East Street. The private client was pleased with the higher rent and longer lease achieved.

Chichester College have submitted an application for Outline Planning permission to develop 16 acres of their farm land at the Brinsbury campus for Class B1, B2 and B8 commercial development. This follows shortly after Harwoods Motor Group also submitted a Full Application to Horsham District Council to build a new set of showrooms and head quarters on the 12 acre adjoining plot. 

Once a decision is issued it is expected that development of a new Land Rover, Jaguar and Bentley dealership will be started by Harwoods. Chichester College will also look to construct the enabling works to sell serviced plots to Development Partners.

3 lettings completed in quick sucession at Walton Farm, Bosham. A total of 5,110 sqft in 3 units, have been let to Autovalet Supplies, iRed Thermography and Core Intestments Litimed. This followed the letting of 1,240 sqft earlier in December to Peter Caldecott Builders. Medhursts acted for the owners Landlink Estates and have 2 more units to let on the estate.
